Spring Awakening at Le Beau Chateau

I am so so excited I was invited to attend the designer preview cocktail party for Spring Awakening at Le Beau Chateau in New Canaan, CT this Wednesday night!

Whenever I get invited to these type of designer events I must say, it makes me feel...well, for lack of a better word, cool! I know that sounds cheesy but it feels good to be recognized in the industry I guess :) I'm sure tons and tons of people are invited, but I just feel fortunate to be one of them.

I can't wait to see who's there, and meet talented designers from the area!

Description:
From Broadway performers and celebrated designers to a historic mansion unseen for 57 years, the cast of this May’s Spring Awakening Benefit for the Summer Theater of New Canaan is rich with inspiration from the walks of theatre, history, and interior design. This unique event promises to be the region’s most colorful and entertaining, with live entertainment from special guest Broadway and regional theatre performers, authors and fantastic Broadway-inspired tablescapes.

The Designers:

More than twenty designers from New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Westchester County will create table vignettes inspired by a chosen Broadway musical, and a special garden boutique.

Le Beau Chateau – The Center Stage

For the first time in 57 years, this gracious 22-room mansion set on 52 acres will come alive as the stage on which design and the arts come together to inspire, inform and entertain. Its history is as magnificent as its grandeur. The home has been unfurnished and unoccupied since its current owner Hugette Clarke purchased it in 1952. A descendent of the 19th century copper magnate William Clarke, Hugette never moved into the Le Beau Chateau, leaving this magnificent estate in the dark for decades. The home was originally built in 1937 by a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania and designed by New York’s renowned architectural firm Vroohes, Gmelin and Walker. Designed as an authentic French manor house, it is a legacy of the grandeur of a bygone era and one of the last great estates in Fairfield County. It features a grand staircase, 11 fireplaces, 13 foot ceilings, herringbone floors and an expansive property that includes a forest, streams and brooks.

**I will be taking tons of pics and can not wait to share them with all of you!**

Shorely Chic Holiday Fairs and Parties

Woohoo, What-A-Weekend! I could not move on Sunday night after my events on Saturday, a holiday fair at a church from 9-3, and a jewelry and home decor party from 5-12:30 a.m. Don't get me wrong, it was such great fun and again I learned so much, but it was indeed exhausting!
I participated in these events with my bff Cheryl Caveny, the designer and owner of KulaKai  (on the web) and on Etsy, KulaKai. I absolutely LOVE her stuff as we pretty much have the same exact taste, and it is so great to share the pursuit of our separate creative passions together :)
Since we were 10, we dreamed of opening our own boutique on the beach and we were going to call it CACELO (khak-i-lo) for Cheryl Ann Caveny Elizabeth Louise Orgera. Check out her website to see all her great designs and stay tuned for a KulaKai giveaway coming later this week!!
Here are some pics of the weekend --

This was us at the Holiday Fair in Greenwich which was VERY different than what we had expected - basically it was just much smaller and there were more baked goods for sale than crafts, but we stayed and had a blast together eating all the cookies and laughing our hearts out.

Here was our table at the party, we mixed all of our stuff and scattered it throughout the house :) We had a great time - the host is one of Cheryl's older sisters best friends, and I played tennis with her in high school, so we pretty much knew all the guests.

New wine sacks - just listed on Etsy, too.

So there you have it! Our Shorely Chic/KulaKai weekend. Cher just moved to Newport Beach, CA so I don't get to see her as much but that just means I have a great vacation to take at any time ;)

Happy Monday and Have a Great Week!!
