Bramasole Photography

I came across Bramasole Photography on twitter and was so happy to visit their site and be welcomed by the music of Jack Johnson and surfing images from one of my all time favorite beach towns, Montauk, Long Island, New York.

Photographer, Christine Wexler's, images capture the beauty of the sport at all levels and the peace the ocean brings to all of us.
I asked Christine about her inspirations and she remarked, "Growing up on Long Island, Montauk was always a special place to lose yourself and let your creativity come alive.  The Ocean and light are my true inspirations". I just love that.

Funny story about this one - A friend of mine from college! He used this as his facebook profile pic for a while which is how I recognized him since it's from the back. Mike, if you're out there reading this:
All my best and hope you are well :)

Christine's work can currently be seen in the Southampton Hospital ER, Sole East in Montauk, and in many homes throughout the East End and in New York City.

To see more Bramasole Photography you can visit her website or contact her by email.

Head Shot Help!

I apologize in advance for the pure vanity of this blog post but I can't decide and who better to ask then the people who have helped shape this brand :)

SO I was in need of a head shot and STAT for a few big things coming up. Unfortunately, my current iPhone snapshot of me on my wedding day just wasn't going to cut it any longer though I don't know if you'll ever get a more genuine smile out me... I was going to pay a professional but wanted to try it out myself first. I did just spend big bucks on a Nikon and hubs can take a decent shot so we headed down to the beach this weekend. The light was perfect and I just got an adorable fedora and ombre scarf from my friend Cooper at Hat Attack (talk about beach chic - you must visit their website!).

I'm deciding between these:

1

2

3

4

5

6

7

8
Again, I know it's vain and in a way I hated putting all these up but this is going to be spread all over the internet in a few weeks so I want it to represent me and Shorely Chic in the best way. So, which do you like of 1-8??

And thank you Brian for going to 5 different beaches until we found one with no people to save me from being embarrassed, and for taking all these pics while Jack barked his head off in the car waiting for us to be done :)

New York Cottages & Gardens Launch at Lillian August

I had a great night last night in NYC at the launch of the new New York Cottages & Gardens Magazine at Lillian August. It was so great to catch up with many of my twitter and blogger friends, and meet the team behind the magazine.

Lillian August asked some of my favorite NYC interior designers, Anne Maxwell Foster and Suysel dePedro Cunningham of Tilton Fenwick to decorate a window. Anne and I snuck outside to snap some shots:

isn't it FAB?

Live #DesignTV twitter chat with Amy of ABCD Designs, Jennifer of Dec-a-Porter, and Lynn of Decor Arts Now

I despise this photo of me but had to put it in because it's the only shot I have of another favorite NYC friend and designer, Rebecca Soskin

Me with Alana Moskowitz of the New York Design Center

Hubs came to support after he got out of work!

That's Roxy of Society Social, an amazingly fun and colorful furniture line, Alana again, and me :)

Me and long time friends, Marcy and Irwin Feld of Irwin Feld Design

Was a great night filled with inspired design, great people, and the fantastic setting of Lillian August!

THE SEA

A little beach inspiration for your Wednesday...

"I really don't know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea,
except I think it's because in addition to the fact that the sea changes,
and the light changes, and ships change, it's because we all came from the sea.
And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins
the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean,
and, therefore, we have salt in our blood,
our sweat, and in our tears.
We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea,
whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back
from whence we came."

for the America's Cup Crews, September 14, 1962,
Newport, R.I.

Light & Airy Dining

How perfect is this dining room? It's so light and airy I think I would feel as though I were dining al fresco all year 'round :)
Kate Jackson Interior Design

Those framed sea fans can be purchased in many interior design stores, but are also a very simple DIY. You can buy seafans here and even spray paint them in your favorite colors! Hmm I think I have a tutorial calling!!

Enjoy your Tuesday love bugs :)

Oh, and I've added some new iPhone designs to my Etsy shop :) And just so you all know, the money I raise with my iPhone covers is going to be used for the samples I need to have made for the new line of home accessories, which is verrry pricey!

the above ones are light and airy, kind of like this dining room

and these are bold and fun!!
