Accessorizing Bookshelves

Do you have bins full of home decor that just doesn't seem to 'fit' anywhere in your home? Lots of little items, gifts from people, old books, seashells collected from vacations, artwork from the kids, vases up the wazoo? We all do, and side note: we're lucky if we're organized enough to get it stored away in bins... Unfortunately I find these personal and treasured items get tucked away in the attic and forgotten about to keep us from feeling guilty for chucking them out the door to Goodwill or the trash imply because there is not enough surface area in the home to keep them out.

Well, bookshelves and built-ins are a great solution to this design dilemma. Pretty much everything and anything can go into the bookshelves and as long as they are organized in a way that is pleasing to the eye, you can have your treasured pieces on display for you and your guests to enjoy :)

Take a look at these fine examples below:

I love all the color (above)
{via Martha Stewart} lots of fun colors here!

wallpaper on the back wall of the shelf, very simple to do and SO CHIC!
you can use everything in your shelves, from books, vases, frames, and other accessories like boxes, figurines, mirrors, etc...
