Belvivere Fine Linens - A MUST

With the reality of being engaged *though I still think I'm dreaming* comes registering!! One night, Brian and I laid in bed with the lap top taking turns which items we wanted - he headed straight to grilling tools, and I was going for the expensive kitchen gadgets I've always wanted! Good Riddance dollar store spatulas!!

One of the home-wares I've always wanted to register for was fine linens, and how happy I was to be introduced via twitter to Belvivere a few months ago. I've become 'virtual' friends with Jay and his wife Rosanna who reside in Florence, Italy my favorite city in the world! I will 'shorely' be registering for their bed linens and towels and will have our new family monogram embroidered on each piece *still, am I dreaming?*! I am excited to introduce my friends and family to this fine Italian company, and must admit, feel pretty cool about going directly to Italy for my sheets and by-passing the big name stores! Supporting the small business is something very dear to my heart, and I will jump on the chance whenever I have it.

A little background information on Belvivere: After three years of preparation, Belvivere went live online in 2008. Fine linens have been in the family for generations with owner Jay Conti's grandmother doing hand embroidery at home in Florence working to realize the magnificent linens that every new bride brought with her to the new family house. Jay's father, after a career in retail, started his own manufacturing workroom producing custom linens for the world's finest boutiques.  Jay got his MBA and tried a professional life in the corporate world, and like most of us, got fed up early on. It was a natural step for Jay to go back to his roots and start again from there. With a few of his old college friends, who where always fascinated by the quality and exquisite craftsmanship of florence artisans, they decided to partner. Jay and his team brought together local small manufacturers and workrooms into a solid organization able to extend its reach to a global audience leveraging the internet and social media.

Love it ALL!

Jay launched http://www.luxury-linens.com a blog which talks about the luxuriousness of fine linens and what makes them different from the typical sheets we buy at big name stores. Check it out and educate yourselves on the quality of the sheets you sleep on, which in turn, affects the quality of sleep we get each night!
