Type Drawers with Shells

One of the first housewarming gifts my mom ever gave me was a type tray that she filled with shells from the seventies. At the time, I thought it was really nice and unique, but then I one day when I was flipping through a magazine I saw that India Hicks had one, and that type tray of mine became one of my most prized wall hangings!

I have since made a few but they sold immediately, makes me think I should probably make some more, what do you think? Would you buy one?

    Your tray is gorgeous! No wonder it sold instantly. They seem to be very popular -perhaps because of India Hicks??

    love those trays...I am a rather sentimental person, (ahem ahem) and they are the perfect spot to post your favorite earrings, sea shells, memories and the like!

    i've actually been scouring our local thrift stores trying to locate one for myself.... sadly i still haven't found one. sooo yes maybe you should go ahead and make some! :)

    How very flattering to be mentioned in your blog. I love my tray, as it has great personal history and every shell it holds I have collected on scuba diving adventures around the Bahamas.

    My mother had some great type drawers back in the 80s... so this post was a little nostalgic for me :) I love love love the idea of shells in them. Its a perfect way to bring the best of the beach inside! Thanks for sharing!
