A New Beginning for a British Classic and a Giveaway!

**Update! The lucky winner of the set of four Cornishware by T.G.Green striped mugs is #12,
Live Simply by Annie!  Counting down from comment #1, each participant got one entry for each step that they followed and #12 landed right on Annie :) Congratulations!!

I stumbled across these magnificent British stripes when looking for ways to incorporate this season's trendy stripes into my serve ware for the spring and summer. I was immediately taken by the tradition and story of the Original Cornishware by T.G.Green and had to get my hands on some to share with you.

Cornishware was first produced in 1926 in Derbyshire, a county named for its pottery. The range of kitchen and table ware, from the hooped plates to the iconic storage jars, was an immediate success and remained popular from then on. Unfortunately in 2007, like so many of our favorite brands, Cornishware closed as it became to difficult for the Victorian potters in Derbyshire to compete with the modern age.

Fortunately, Cornishware had fans in the right places and the brand was brought back to life. Lifelong admirers Charles Rickards and Paul Burston, teamed up with designer and branding consultant Perry Haydn Taylor to restore and revamp the classic pottery line :)

Could they be more spot on with today's trends?! Pieces can come personalized or plain and in a wide variety of colors. My favorite is the blue which reminds me of a striped beach umbrella:

Are you in love yet?
