My Homemade Hot Cocoa

Hi Y'all!! How are your holidays going?? I've been super busy hence the slowness on the blog lately but enjoying the season with friends and family out and about in Connecticut and NYC.

The other night I was craving some hot cocoa but didn't want to use the chemical-filled packets so I came up with this little recipe which turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

Ingredients:

1 heaping TBSP of Hershey's Dark Chocolate Cocoa
1 c Milk
A good healthy squeeze of honey
a little TBSP of sugar

First you take out your saucepan and make a little syrup with the cocoa and a teeny bit of water
Let the cocoa absorb and then add your milk
Stir around until hot
Add the honey and sugar to taste

Dollop with some big ol' marshmellows and that's it :)

You could add some peppermint or a candy cane to make it extra tasty! I also know some people who add just the teeniest bit of salt which I will try next time.

Enjoy!

  1. Looks delicious! I'll have to try this recipe! I have been using the real cane sugar(the brown one) and it's so yummy when added to anything. XO
