Lisa Sherry's Casual Luxe Island Retreat

It was love at first sight with the wood paneled golf cart and surfboard on top from Lonny Magazine's feature on interior designer Lisa Sherry's Bald Head Island Retreat.  I had never heard of Lisa Sherry or Bald Head Island (odd name for an island but ok!) before but am definitely a new fan of both.

How neat is the cluster of paper lanterns? I LOVE paper lanterns

love all the neutrals

My FAVORITE chandelier. EVER. {The Serena by Oly Studio}

What a fun loft for lounging

I love the mix of vintage ocean prints in mis-matched frames

Casual Luxe is how Lisa herself describes the house and I would have to agree. Casual with all the neutrals and natural elements, but luxe and certainly chic in the composition and finishings.

Do you like?

  1. I saw this spread and am obsessed with that couch -- it looks like you could just sink into it and never leave!

  2. Be still my heart. Back to Kate, yes, the sectionals are dreamy. Both are from Verellen. They make amazing things -- basically couture for everyday. Chic but not fussy. Check it out: Verellen.biz

  4. Hello, me again. That Lisa Sherry beach house is the bomb. Thanks for sharing, Liz. I'll check it out in Lonny. For more on Lisa Sherry, her site is lisasherryinterieurs.com. She spells "interiors" the French way ... so head's up! Enjoy. Her work is very cool.

  5. Just gorgeous! Ironically I am in the car heading back from the airport...on my way back from the Southport NC area which happens to overlook Bald Head Island!

  6. Wow - those interior pics are amazing! I love the relaxing feel of a neutral interior so this house is right up my alley! I visited Bald Head Island with my family for the first time a few months ago and absolutely loved it. You can only get there by ferry so it is mostly bikes and golf carts that are used for transportation around the island - it's a great spot if you're looking for a relaxing get-away!

  8. I have been a beach traveler and Interior Designer for 25 plus years, yet live in the midwest, had dreamed of Bald Head Island (husband says cause he was bald at 20yrs) but dreamed of going since before a place to eat even existed...now it is by far the best place I have ever been, best Christmas Ive ever spent and has the best home rentals with the finest of designs than any island I have been to in the states( Rosemary Beach a close close second in Florida panhandle)....love the Suburban golfcarts we have had, they seat six....We always kept Bald Head a secret , loving the solitude and private beaches, our first stay was in one of the twin towers, which over looked Cape Fear running into the ocean..unreal, its called Bald head due to the large head of sand at the tip of the ocean, it actually looks Bald when comparing it to the rest of the lush island marshes and conservatories, also the lighthouse is the oldest in the state...Go and enjoy! Its a dream come true!
